2013 Trifulau
Barolo DOCG
A field selection of 15, 40 & 98 year old vines, from a parcel straddling the border between Castiglione Falletto and Monforte D'Alba (Bussia Sottana cru), just outside the town of Barolo in Piemonte, Italy. Dry farmed on calcareous grey marl transitioning into Organic farming.
In a vintage that weather-afficionados will have taken quite a liking to, we hand-harvested then sent whole berries straight to a 32-day cold soak, fermentation and post-party maceration. Left to age 3 years mostly undisturbed on lees in one 30 HL botte of neutral Slavonian oak, this lovely drop will give many more years of pleasure. 94 Points, Wine Front.
100% Nebbiolo. 94 points, GW
